I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was beautiful here in Michigan! I wish I could bottle up weekends like these and bring them out in February. It was perfect!
It's time to share my thoughts about what has been lingering from our Cover to Cover readings of the Bible this week.
Jeremiah 17:10
"I the LORD search the heart
and examine the mind,
to reward a man according to his conduct,
according to what his deeds deserve."
Again, I am reminded and encouraged that God looks past my outward appearance, and cares more about my heart. I wanted to share a funny thing that happened today. I did a 5K run/walk this morning with my friends in honor of my daughter's friend who recently passed away from cancer. When we crossed the finish line they gave everyone a medal. Everyone loves a medal and I don't care how old we are. There is something special about it. Anyway... right after this picture was taken we went for coffee and I took it off and put it on the passenger's seat next to me. About half an hour later I went to the car wash and sucked up the medal in the vacuum cleaner! Easy come, easy go! I had to laugh. God has such a good sense of humor. We don't get our rewards here, sisters!
Zephaniah 3:17
The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing."
There is something about this verse that just makes me feel Peace in my life! I love how He will "quiet" me with His Love.
There was a lot to read this week and I know I don't always add a lot, but I just take little nuggets at a time and am so Blessed by His Word. I hope your week goes well and you let Him quiet you with His love! He takes great delight in YOU!
He is Mighty to save...
With His Love,
Angie xoxo

Hi Ang..
Aww I'm sorry about your medal, but I know that the event you ran for has a special meaning in your heart and that is what matters most. And you took a lovely photo to remember the occasion as well.I love the way you put everything together along
with the scripture verses. You are a blessing to me..

I could hear that song playing in my head when I read this too! I love any verse that expresses God's delight in me. I'll carry that picture in my heart today. Enjoy your day, sister.(and you can come help with my laundry anytime. There's always dessert here!)
love,
karen
Well, I'll take one of those days you're having here in Texas right now--forget February. What a great way to celebrate Josh's life. I love the part in that same verse, "He will quiet you with His love." Such beautiful comforting words, and I'll take your nuggets any day over my long discourses. Love you, Annette
I think I will read those Scriptures tonight between work and going to sit with dad. Thanks for sharing the golden nuggets the Lord gave you.
Annette
Thank you Ang- The Lord God is with you- He is might to save. HE will take great delight in you-
Great delight in me- why?
He will quiet you with his love- He will rejoice over you with singing. Aren't I the one who is suppose to be rejoicing over Him?
He will rejoice over me?
What an incredible verse. It spoke straight to my heart. I desire for the Lord God to be with me, to save me, to delight in me, to quiet me with His love, and most of all to rejoice over me with singing!!!
Thank you Siesta for being faithful. You truly are an amazing woman of God.
Be blessed. Your Siesta

Laughing with you about the medal. Your statement about rewards here on earth is so true. Hope your week is off to a good start.
So sorry about your medal...but your right our rewards are in heaven. Remember the 'burma seat'?!
Thanks for your nugget and for remembering and honoring Josh. Im sure it meant alot to Meghan.
Love Ya
I love moments where we see a lesson in a mishap. Sorry bout your medal though..
I love both of those verses.
I didn't realize you were so close to me...at least our states touch. Indiana and Michigan.
Yes, that verse does bring such awe, such beauty...to invision Him delighting over us...delighting over me, sin and flaws, mistakes and all. My God delights over me. Humbled by His love.
Luv2u,
Paula
Ang,
Thanks for the congrats on my book. I can't wait to share it with you!
FYI, on your post to me, you put the date as Aug 4th. It is on Tuesday, Aug 5th...silly girl!
Looking forward to a YA hug!
Lisa
Ang,
You are just too darling for words!
Your post reminded me of the medal I received as I crossed the finish line when I completed the RAIN Ride. It's actually a key chain, but it meant so much. It's a reminder of what I did w/ the strength and ability I received from God.
After reading your post and hearing about your medal, it reminded me of these verses from the hymn The Old Rugged Cross
So I'll cherish the old rugged cross,
till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
and exchange it some day for a crown.
Yes, He is Mighty to Save and our prize at the end of the race is our Crown in Christ!
God Bless you and thank you for your words of encouragement this past week. It came just at the right time.

You had me laughing about that medal being here one minute and gone the next! Good for you running the race! :0) Hope you have a great Monday! I'm off to the laundry that I have not gotten done all day~

You are hilarious---sucked up in the vacuum---the medal that is! I remember my first 5K where I came in dead last (it was only 50 peeps) and my 10-year-old son was so embarrassed for me and tried to HIDE my medal...ARE YOU KIDDING---I FINISHED! That's all I could think! That's so neat you all did that for this mom who lost her daughter!
Ang,
That's one of my favorite worship songs! I love the medal story! Too cute!
Blessings

Loved your medal story. And you are so right! There is a greater reward waiting for us. I thought about this as I watched many kids/teams get so devastated by winning the runner up trophies and medals.
What a beautiful thing y'all did today!! Celebrating life. Remembering life. Knowing that our home is truly not here.
Hope you have a great week Ang.
Hugs and blessings~

How special the memory is and the reason for the run. I dont think that can be sucked away in a vacuum. I enjoy the chronological Bible reading. I am learning so much and I enjoy reading what others learn from HIM too.
Just about 3 more weeks and I get to meet you!! I'm excited!
Love ya & blessings!
Engrafted by His Grace-
