I was thinking about the many marriage counseling sessions we went to where I was frustrated because things never seemed to improve. It wasn't until someone asked us if we had gotten down on our knees together and prayed for God to heal our marriage that something changed. I remember being so surprised that we had never thought about something so simple. I don't ever want to forget the best piece of advice we were given. And I think it's about time we start doing it again!
Philippians 2:3-4 ... but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.
On our knees with the greatest counselor.

You really should bill me. I'd owe you a Dyson. :) Very, very good advice. All the counseling in the world isn't as valuable as ten minutes on our knees. He is the healer and the provider of all good things. Love you, Annette
Amen!
Hugs!

Aloha Angie.. I really am blessed by this post..I have gathered with some of my blogging sisters and we have been on a 31 day prayer challenge for our husbands we are on going on day 28, and God has not only blessed my husband but me as well, As I have been praying for my husband I truly have seen a transformation in myself as well, and we have come together in unity even more. We both pray together and you are so right, we come before the mighty counselar and lay it all at his feet. I enjoyed ny visit here and will be back to read more.
Blessings Lorie
This is soooo true! You are becoming very wise! When we really look at ourselves...honestly...we can learn so much. God will reveal what we need to know...and the best position for learning is on our knees.
On our knees we are lifted up!
Your witness of of the key essential in healing a marriage is such a blessing!
Angie,
I just left this long comment and then I think I deleted it. Anyway, I was just saying how "right on" you are with this post. Satan is coming after our marriages and the only protection we have is to be on our knees together in prayer! Great reminder today!!
Take care & hopefully I won't erase this before I hit "post comment"!!
Love,
Kelley
Angie, this is so true and I'm so glad you have reflected on this and will begin again. Kelley is right Satan is after all marriages, particularly Christian marriages. If he can break that one relationship that mimics Christ's relationship with the church, then he is on his way like a domino effect to destroy many relationships, families, finances, everything. My husband and I failed in praying together and I do believe that was a factor in it failing.
Love,
Paula
On our knees with you!!
Love you and always praying~

Funny you should mention this. There have been many times that I have "felt" I should be on my knees praying for my marriage. But for one reason or another I don't do it. My husband is still pursuing the divorce but God has plenty of time to intervene. Next time I feel the nudge to get on my knees - I will listen.
Thanks for your encouragement and I pray for you often.
With love,
Sheryl
entering that sweet surrender,
