"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
Since this is sort of a journal I realized it would not be complete if I didn't share my favorite flower with you! I love lilacs. I wish you could smell these through the computer. I have some of my best prayer time on my walks.. alone. I can't begin to tell you how much these precious times with God mean to me. I take my iPod and can walk forever! These flowers bring back fond memories. Their aroma is beautiful. I wait all year long for this window of time when lilacs are in full bloom! Yesterday's walk was extra special...
I listened to this song over and over again so I guess I'll share it, too!
Hope you can pause today... and find something that makes you smile!
Much love,
Angie xoxo

I love lilacs, too. There was a huge tree with beautiful purple lilacs in our yard growing up and to this day the smell of lilac brings back very sweet childhood memories.
Through it all, I am singing! Nothing like a prayer walk through the fragrance of spring to refocus, to draw us back into His presence. Lilacs are so beautiful. We don't have them in Texas. I am imagining their scent and the joy they bring you. Thanks for sharing this part of your day and Selah. Love you, Annette
I love them, too. I try to buy candles with lilac scent, but nothing comes close to the real thing.
Lilacs were always my favorite flower growing up and then I moved to Texas where they don't have them. I miss them every spring! I also really like Selah and enjoyed the song! Thank you for sharing!

I LOVE lilacs and I love this song.
I actually have a record - yes ma'am, a RECORD - of Barbara Mandrell singing this song. I have been a Barbara geek/fan for just about FOR-E-VER and the "He Set My Life To Music" album was one of the many reasons why.
Love this version too.
And now I will be singing it all day long!
I love that line of the song "if I didn't have a problem I wouldn't know He could solve it." How true that is. It is in the midst of trials that we can really see the beauty of trials and the PURPOSE...to draw us closer to Him.
Lilacs...oh, a woman after my own heart. Lilacs and hycinthias. I'm sure you know what they are and how fragrant they are. They come out about this time I believe...they are a bulb flower so I've never purchased one. I have four HUGE lilac bushes and I think they are probably about fragrant now. When I mowed on Saturday they were full of blooms but not fragrant yet.
Thanks Angie.
Love,
Paula
I think I can smell them Ang! And I love my walks with the Lord too.
Could go for miles. But, you put me on a treadmill with nothing and I'm useless.
Thanks for sharing and I hope you are having a great week too!
Much love~

I bet these lilac scented walks give you great times of meditation on your bible reading too! I'm so impressed with your ambitious cover to cover plan! Enjoy Ang---love these posts!
Our first home had HUGE lilac bushes in the back yard. We have planted some at the house we are in now but they are still pretty dinky. I love them as well, they smell so good and the purple flowers are beautiful!
And you are right, there is nothing like taking long walks with the Ipod. Thank goodness it is starting to warm up!
