As if I could ever forget...

I need to remind all of us that God really does perform miracles in our time! This morning I cannot help but remember where my husband and I were just one year ago today.

It was just a normal day when I got home from work and noticed an envelope on our front porch. It was a priority envelope addressed to me. When I opened it I read the letter from American Express congratulating me for winning an all-expense paid trip for two to Ulusaba's Private Game Reserve in South Africa. Also included were two Upper class tickets on Virgin Atlantic Airlines. The trip was estimated at $$,$$$. I immediately called the contact number since I was sure it was a scam and that someone was trying to steal my identity. Everyone I told agreed with me that... Okay, what's the catch? But... after SEVERAL calls to a lot of different people it was true! I guess because I pay my bill online I was in a drawing (of which I had no idea I had entered) and I was one of five people to win.

We started out with a week in London, before we flew to Johannesburg where we took a small plane to a very small airport where we changed planes to yet a smaller plane that took us to Ulusaba's private airstrip, where a Land Rover picked us up.

Why me? Well there is just no other way to explain it except the fact that God must really love me!
Thank you, Lord!

Isn't this the most unbelievable story you've ever heard? I still cannot believe it happened to me and it has already come and gone!

I pray for blessings for you today!!!
Much love,
Angie xoxo

I'm kind of speechless! This sort of thing doesn't happen in real life! lol

How awesome for you, though. That bedroom looks great. And the wildlife...WOW! (And just a little bit scary - I know...my cowardly side is showing!)

i will most definitely put up some stuff from deeper still...i am just still so floored by the whole weekend. i got in last night, walked straight passed my 3 roomates, got on my face in my room, and just bawled at my Jesus. simply amazing. so as soon as i can register and comprehend most of what happened i will post about it (with pictures!)

I am so envious! I have always wanted to travel to Africa. My parents have been several times and they always told such wonderful stories of their adventures. As a matter of fact, while my Dad was there, they needed to thin out the zebra herd because of a drought. The missionaries they were with were able to join the hunt, so Dad went along. He shot one and now I have the skin...it is beautiful! They only shot the oldest ones, and it was to save the rest of the herd. That was quite a few years ago, and now the skins are not allowed out of the country. So, I feel fortunate to have it. I know those days are treasured in your memory.

Wow! I love the pictures. They remind me of my grandmother who LOVED elephants. Whenever I see elephants, I automatically think of her!

It is wonderful that you and your hubby had such a wonderful experience.

The other day it was sunny and perfect weather for a picnic I was hosting. Someone commented on what a nice day it was and I said, "That's because God loves me!"
Clearly, He loves you WAAAAY more than He loves me and now I have to go pray and confess my jealousy. LOL!!!
What a blessing for you. Glad you got to enjoy it!

I just scanned down and saw the pictures, and thought, it was just two years ago we were there in the Waterberg mountains, north of Johannesburg, and without a doubt, it felt like another universe opened up. How blessed you are to have gone. Have you ever seen such glory juxtaposed against such poverty in one place? It touches the deep places inside.

What a wonderful story. What a blessing for you and your husband. It's my first time visiting your blog. Your stories made me smile. After so many negative things going on in our world, it is so nice to be encouraged for a little bit. Thanks.
