"Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves." -Romans 12:9-10
When looking for the perfect verse this morning, the word "sincere" jumped off the page. I would like to do a word study on the word, "sincerity." To me it means someone really, really means what they are saying. Since the first of the year I have had the gnawing feeling that I was mistaken by what I thought was friendship for many years, but really wasn't. I was included for their purpose and now that I'm not needed, our relationship is different. Not that I needed any kind of recognition; but as I reflect, I question their sincerity. I feel I was devoted to them, but it might not have been mutual. I could totally be wrong. ;)
May I be a devoted friend so those I call friends will never question my sincerity. And you know as well as I do that I am definitely not any better than anyone else, regardless of my education or for any other reason.
Sincerely,
Pigtails
