Hi, I'm Angie and I'm...

insecure.

Yes, I'm going to be brutally honest with you. The older I get, the more I learn that as women, we are all just like middle-schoolers. More times than I'd like to admit, I feel like an insecure 12 year-old girl trying to fit in. We all long to belong. I'm in the phase of life where there are many social events that require lists. Am I on the A list, the B list? Am I even on the list? It can feel very awkward since we all want to be chosen. I know in my head that as a Christian I'm not supposed to want to "fit in" this world, but it's not always easy to get the message to my heart. I know I can only be secure in Him! Most days I'm okay with it, but other days it just feels lonely and uncomfortable. I have always had a special place in my heart for girls in middle school.

I'm not feeling sorry for myself, I'm just sayin'... A friend of mine reminded me of Beth Moore's New Year's Eve. I linked to that evening where she chose to spend her night with the solo sisters. You can read it here at the bottom of her post about the Scripture memory verses. You should read the comments! She is such a blessing!

What would we do without Jesus and His Word?

Then Peter began to speak: "I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism.
(Acts 10:34)

Have you ever felt this way? If you can relate at all, I hope you'll listen to this song. It's true. God does not show favoritism! I believe He's more than enough for me and you!

Thank you for Accepting me, even if it's just through a computer screen! I bet this why I like blogging!
Love,
Angie xoxo

p.s. By the way... You are on my A list! :)

You are speaking my language, friend. And you know exactly what I mean! :) Love you, sweet bloggiing friend. And keep struggling with Him. The fact is, we all deal with insecurity, and we all long to be chosen! You ARE chosen!

I can remember those feelings of insecurity; hoping to be picked and liked.... God, our father chose us, and oh how wonderful that is! Angie, you are a precious gem in His crown!

I absolutely adore your honesty!

Praise you Father for Angie. For yes, you are enough for all of us. Thank you Jesus that you picked us. We are worth it to you!!!

On dear Angie, I pray that as you sit as Jesus's feet that you let Him love on you and hear Him whisper in your ear that you are chosen. You are on His A list. You are very wise to understand that you know this in your "head but not your heart". Let God reveal the lies that Satan has been telling you. Rebuke those lies and let God's word saturate your heart and mind. I don't mean to sound like an expert per say, but I kinda feel like I am as I have delt with my fair share of lies blocking the truth.

You are so precious in his sight. You are on His A list and mine as well!!!

By the way, I like blogging too, and it might just be for the same reason as yours.:) Love ya!

Okay, I knew there were Scripts that speak to this and two came to me, (after I looked them up to get the words right--wished I could quote them)
First, you ARE His A-list, chosen by God to proclaim His glory...
1 Peter 2:9
"But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;"

Rather than make us arrogant and perfect, He makes us vulnerable and, therefore, useful to Him:

Luke 9:48
Whoever is the least among you is the greatest.

He desires humble hearts. People, who, like you, want to make everybody feel comfortable around them, who esteem others as higher than themselves.

You know this post and long-winded comment are as much for me as they are for you. I needed it this morning.
Love you so,
Annette

Your on my SIC List...Siesta in Christ!

A couple of weeks ago in Church, one of the readings included the verse God shows no partiality...a little boy in the back of the church said yeah man, we know...I don't know how the reader kept going, I laughed out loud...

I'm not usually on anyone's list!
But you are on my A+ list and we are both on Jesus's list, held tight in his hand even.

Love your heart Ang. I am glad to be on His list and try to remember that when ugly ole' insecurity rears its head.

What is the best job I've ever had?
