Mike and John
This Thursday I am thankful for my son, John and his character. It's probably not right to brag about him, but tonight I want to. I talked with him last night about his lacrosse team and his disappointment in the leadership of his team. Because of that he has taken on some traits that he is not proud of today. He has decided that he needs to be a better role model for the younger guys on the team. I'm proud of the fact that he isn't afraid to admit when he is wrong.
I am also thankful for all of the people who loved me when I went through my divorce. A young girl I work with had to go to court today to finalize her divorce. I pray I can show her the love of Jesus and point her to Him during this difficult time. It brought back so many memories.
I am thankful for my health today. It seems this week so many people have lost loved ones or have had some scary situations. I Praise God that he is in the midst of every situation and He knows and is here to wrap His loving arms around us.
I am thankful for our small groups. I love the whole idea of small groups and how connected we've become over time. We are here to encourage one another and hold each other accountable. I can't imagine life without a group of friends who are living life together.
Happy Thankful Thursday.
Of course I am also thankful for YOU!
Love,
Angie xoxo

Oh Angie...
You WILL be a blessing to that young woman going through a divorce.

Your son is so good looking and full of good character too. You should be proud. You are such a blessing to me, I know you have comforted so many this week. I have a couple more things I want to share, so I'll email or call. Thankful Thursday sure ended well. love, Annette
I came to your site by way of Terri at Facedown and I am so glad I did. I have teenagers and young adult children as well and there is nothing like seeing them make Godly choices. I think that is how God, as our Heavenly Father, must feel about us. Do you see the similarities in how your son wants to be a role model for his team-mates and you wanting to mentor someone through divorce? I can really see your heart in your posts and I would love to visit you again! Take care and have a great weekend...

Angie,
What a handsome young man of Christian Character!
I love the idea of Thankful Thursday and need to start doing that on my own blog - that way I will be at least consistently posting on Thursdays!
God Bless!
Children are a heritage from the Lord. I trust the Lord will lead you with your co-worker. Health--yes praise the Lord for our health. Friends--so thankful for friends. Good points to remember to be thankful for.
Blessings in Christ-
It is not always easy for a young man to decide on the way he wants to live his life. So much is tied up in the 'manly' thing. But, these are decisions that , when made, will guide the rest of their lives. I learned with my boys that sometimes they have to live with that wrong decision for a while and see how it feels, before they come to the conclusion that it's just not right. THIS IS JUST MY OPINION...but I think that when the Bible say that "...when they are old, they will not depart from it." doesn't mean they will never make the wrong decision...it means that when they do make the wrong decion, they will not be happy with it, because they know it is wrong. And they will turn around.
Didn't mean to preach a sermon. You have taught him well...he will be fine.
there you go again, being humble...
did i miss the annette and angie rendezvous post???
Angie:
It is absolutely perfect and right for you to brag about your son. In doing so, you create for him a sacred remembrance--an etched in ink history that speaks life into his spirit. It is gift of profound influence...your words to your children...and it is a gift that only you can author. What an incredible trust that we, as parents, have been given by God.
I am new to your blog and will visit again. Thank you for the reminder to be thankful.
peace for the journey~

Your son is SO handsome! He has your big, beautiful smile. And who is Mike? He's handsome too.
I loved Tonja's reply. She just overflows with wisom.
Ang,
Tell John "Hi" for me! He has grown into such a fine young man since I first got to know him on our mission trip.
Good job mama!
