Heavy Duty Prayer Request

Hey Siestas!

Today was a big day in the life of my husband (and me). I cannot get too specific on this blog, but will you PLEASE keep us in your prayers tonight? This involves my husband and his job. He is starting a new business and things will be getting pretty stressful for us starting... TODAY and TOMORROW and these next several months! I want to keep believing God to do HUGE things in our lives. I want to be a supportive wife. I want to be a supportive wife. I WANT to be a supportive wife!

If anyone can think of any scriptures that might help me be a good wife during a stressful season for my husband and myself I would be MOST appreciative! I don't mean to be such a drama queen, but right now I am one! Please forgive me!

Galatians 5:22-23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

It is such a comfort to know I have a team of prayer warriors from all over this country... and beyond! I am so blessed. THANK YOU!

Holy Spirit come and fill this place...
I Love You,
Angie xoxo

Hey, Angie. I am praying for you this evening. There is a book, "A Wise Woman" by Erin Thiele that is chock full of ways to be a better wife. It has loads of Scripture and I have a copy by my nightstand. She used to let you print it from her website, but now she sells it on amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Wise-Woman-First-Built-Sinking/dp/193180012X/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_k2a_2_txt/002-9387072-8495211?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-2&pf_rd_r=1C3RQZ8MM47HHHNGJWV8&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_p=304485601&pf_rd_i=1931800049

I may have another copy. I will see if I can send you one. It is a good resource.

Meanwhile, you are supportive already by your "want to" as Beth Moore says. Hang tight to Him. Love you, annie

Angie
I will be praying for you and I KNOW you and your sweet Hubby will get through this together. Here are a few verses I love that always help me. I hope they will help you too.

Psalm 56:3
What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NRSV)

No testing has overtaken you that is not common to everyone. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tested beyond your strength, but with the testing he will also provide the way out so that you may be able to endure it.

Psalm 56:3-4
When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust, I will not be afraid.

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Philippians 4:6-7 and 13
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your request to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Hugs sweet friend,
Kat

Let me head over to the Psalms and see what falls in front of me....or after looking a bit.....

Psalm 34...read the entire thing.
I love every word of it. And then just stay in the Psalms and it will be medicine to your spirit.

I'm praying for both of you.
Much love siesta,
Fran

Angie- a few months back I was really struggling with something very similar concerning my husband's job. We were surrounded by uncertainty and I was nervous and worrying and didn't know what to think. Hebrews 10:36 helped me:

"You need to persevere, so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised"

He WILL do what is best for you and your family. No matter what comes from this new "adventure", His will WILL be done. Plans to give you a future and a hope. Not a plan that is meant to harm you. Persevere. That is God's will for you right now. Right now He wants you to trust HIM, not the situation. Trust that God KNOWS what He is doing!

Hope that helps!
Jen

I will be praying!
2 Cor 5:7
7We live by faith, not by sight.

Eph 5:21-33
21Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Wives and Husbands
22Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26to make her holy, cleansing[b] her by the washing with water through the word, 27and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29After all, no one ever hated his own body, but he feeds and cares for it, just as Christ does the church— 30for we are members of his body. 31"For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh."[c] 32This is a profound mystery—but I am talking about Christ and the church. 33However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband.

Angie,
I'm praying for you. You do have lots of good scriptures listed to lean on and God's Word is where we put our hope and trust. He is faithful. He is true.

Someone already mentioned Psalm 34 as that is one of my favorites also, especially verses 4 & 5.

4 I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. 5 Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.

Love and
Blessings in Christ--

I'm sorry I haven't been by in a while....things are crazy everywhere I'm afraid! You have some excellent scriptures in your comments. I'll be praying for you. I know personally that second marriages have their own set of challenges....put on the whole armor of God! Sometimes when I know my husband and I are in a stressful time, I try to be very quiet....that is really hard for me!

What is the best job I've ever had?
