How To Say Goodbye

Well, it's official. My son, John got his acceptance letter to The University of South Carolina yesterday! He will be transferring next semester. He has always wanted to move there and knows this is the time to leave.

You all know my daughter moved to New York in May. I miss her but am so glad she is happy!

God is in total control and I have to keep reminding myself of that!

Here's to letting them go... :)

Angie, some mothers do such a great job of loving and nurturing their children. But then, when the time comes to let them go, they forget that they have to do it - it's as much a part of being a mother as teaching them right from wrong. It's also the hardest part of being a mother. Your ability to let them go is what defines you as a GOOD MOM.

What a wonderful mother you must be that your children are able to move into adulthood with confidence and grace. You will never let them go and they will always be with you....

Is there anything harder than letting go??? I am so happy for your son, but I know your momma's heart is full of many emotions. You have given him to God and the two of them together.....watch out!
I believe GREAT things are ahead.

Blessings....

Oh man, I can't imagine. It is hard enough for my lil sis to be several hours away at school.

I will be praying for you as you prepare for him to move next semester.

Iknow only too well about letting go. My 2nd son left for college this summer. It seems especially hard with boys (at least my boys), they love being away at school and certainly don't call me all the time like my friends with girls do!!

BTW - My son's good friend just started his first year at USC, as well as a friend of mine's daughter.

Thinking of you - blessings!

Oh yeah for him but I am sad for you!!
You have a great perspective though b/c you know that God is in control after all He loves our children more than we do :)
Love,
Kim

I can only imagine what that feels like.

I know I'm just a college girl, but I will say that since my 3 best friends have gotten married and moved to different states the times I see them are just that much sweeter.

I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Lots of hugs today,
Linds

Wow...what a beautiful song and video. As an empty nester myself, I certainly know how hard it is to say goodbye. It's wonderful though seeing them spread their wings.

Hugs!

Michael W. Smith was just in town and he was talking on the radio before he was doing the concert, and he spoke about how hard it was walking his daughter down the aisle as she got married. He said the only thing that made it bearable was that he was looking into the eyes of her fiance as he walked her down and saw tears in his eyes too. He knew how much they both loved her. Oh, I am not looking forward to that day, but I guess it's a necessary part if I get to have the joys of grandkids, which I can't wait for...well, I can. Seriously, I can, Lord! Love, A

Oh Ang,

I am so there with you Siesta. Isn't it hard. . . letting go? When I first saw this video by Michael W. Smith I bawled like a baby; it cut so deep to the raw mix of emotions I was feeling.

So, I understand how you're feeling. Know that I'm praying for you (and it's okay to miss them, even when they're adults!)

Love ya,
~Cheryl

Angie,
Linked to you from Annie's blog. AGH!! This empty nesting is sometimes so hard - but we smile, support and let go. My 25 year-old daughter graduated from USC - loved it, loved it, loved it. My 21 year-old interviews in SC next week for a nursing school. Check my blog - SC is a great place to be, not to mention Gamecock football!! Let me know when he gets there - we have some great Christian friends in Columbia - even a couple that work at USC. May God go before him and with him. Kathy

What is the best job I've ever had?
