Cover to Cover... By faith...Hope does not disappoint.

I LOVE the book of Romans. If any of you have never read the Bible, I would suggest you look up Romans and read it soon. My favorite verses were again difficult to choose this week in our cover to cover readings.

Did you know you get to Heaven by faith and not by works?
This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. (Romans 3:22-24)

Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us. (Romans 5:1-5)

I will never forget the time I was separated from my husband and my nephew, Alex called and recited this verse... "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (Romans 8:28) I had no idea what His purpose was back then. I have such a better understanding today. God uses every difficulty to transform me to make me more like Jesus.

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. (Romans 8:37)

Thank you for your prayers regarding my last post. Today I had coffee with my new friend and God showed up. I asked Him to use me and I could feel His presence. I was once again grateful for how far He has brought me through the years and I never thought I would be thanking Him for the sufferings around Christmas back in 1993. I'm grateful I was desperate for Him. He has a plan, friends and I know it in the depths of my soul. All we need to do is trust Him with our lives and in those difficult seasons. We are more than conquerors. More.

By faith...
Angie xoxo

Hope does not disappoint! Romans is packed with vital information for Christians and the denomination I was raised in has discounted much of it. I read your post and was filled with hope for those who are deceived because they never hear the Truth preached as they attend church each week.

Blessings to you, even though you are not into the hippo song! ha ha ha

Love, Annette

If we had to work for our salvation...we would never be good enough. There would always be comparisons between others and yourself...and who could really say what was acceptable. But A GIFT! well, that changes everything. It is free and ours for the taking! What a wonderful God!

When I feel a little defeated, "more than conquerors" is truth I can claim in Christ. The words of heaven confound the wise and are a stumbling block for unbelievers, but they are the keys of life to receptive hearts. He makes all things new--including our hearts. So glad it went well yesterday as you planted some seeds on parched land. Love, Annette

The love of Christ compels us...He compelled you to be the visible hands and mouthpiece to your friend. I am so glad that it went well.
The book of Romans for many years was a bit "scary" to open...but it is filled with so much that I am glad that I have taken the time to wade into the weighty waters of Paul's writings.

Have a blessed week!

Oh...I am so happy that you loved the book...and that you had a wonderful time in Aruba...how glorious!

Love you,

Helen
