This has been a busy week around here. We had four Christmas parties the last four nights. It's a lot of fun getting together with friends and family but I have to admit it's a bit exhausting. I am one who needs my sleep or I get a little cranky. I mean very cranky! When I am tired I tend to say things I regret later and overreact to things that don't normally bother me. I am not always the easiest person to live with, especially if I am on overload. If I can offer any advice these next couple of weeks, I suggest you get your rest and keep your focus on the real meaning of Christmas, Jesus! It was no accident, as I sit here preparing for this week's cover to cover, that I came across these verses in Ephesians and Colossians.
Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. (Ephesians 4:2-3)
"In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold... Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. ...Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. (Ephesians 4:26-32)
Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Colossians 3:12-14)
I'm SO grateful for another chance...
Much Love,
Angie xoxo

So true!
Beautiful song and scenery.
Christmas hugs to you!

Things just get so busy, it is hard to enjoy any of it 'cause you are so tired! I just don't think that is the way it was intended to be, do you?
Not sure why it is, but it seems I am dealing with something parallel to what you write about on your blog. Hmmm. These are good words you have posted. I have been dealing with some of the issues spoken of in scripture...I mean my reaction has not been what the Lord would want. Confirmation from you that I need to be more careful and not excuse my poor behavior when I am tired or over worked. Thank you Angie.
Thanks for the good words from Eph and Col. Hope you are warm and toasty up there. Have a blessed week.
Love, Annette
His mercies are always new every morning to your humble heart. Just look at how you have responded to HIM this year! Such a beautiful tender heart that He welcomes.
I came back again...another chance...I needed that today when I faced a few students who didn't want to obey a "sub" and let me know it quite directly. You can't get in a power struggle with them but they also treat you like you are invisible. Had to keep repenting and so grateful this night for second and third and fourth chances. It's not about getting things right but it is all about finding HIM in midst of it all and I did!
It's amazing how easy it is to lose focus during this time of the year. Loved the verses you chose. They speak to me as well. (I finally got my cover to cover done.)
blessed day, dear sister.
love,
karen
