Belonging

"Can I play?"

That's what I love about this blog. It's the feeling of belonging. This is better than any sorority I could have been in, because ANYONE and EVERYONE is welcome. We don't have to be perfect, smart, pretty, young, rich, dress a certain way, live in any certain location, our house doesn't have to be big, beautiful or clean for that matter. We don't have to come from the perfect home! We don't have to have perfect grammar. All we have to do is be a girl and have the desire to write and share openly about what's in our hearts. Plain and simple, that's all we want is to be loved and accepted! Hopefully we are on here because we love God and love His people! Or we may just be on here because we want to check this whole God thing out!

Patty over at Girlfriends in God started the coolest thing. It's called GodStop Friday! Go to her blog and check it out to learn more about it. It's basically a time to just stop in our tracks and reflect on what God is doing in our lives.

Mine today is the simple fact that I've realized this week that we can all come together and feel loved and not afraid to show our strengths and weaknesses to each other. I pray we all feel safe enough on here to be authentic. I find that most people only want to share the parts of their lives that are perfect. Hopefully the Christian women want to be different and be real. We all struggle with something in our lives and I'm so grateful for the Great Physician who is in the business of healing all of those areas we would rather keep secret!

Thank you for always making me feel like I belong! It's so refreshing!
Love,
Angie xoxo

p.s. Did you catch that my song didn't work out right? I tried so many...

Okay, I'm with you on this, but I may print it out and hang it on the fridge when you come visit--just as my own reminder that the dust layer on everything is okay with you, right? For so long, everyone needed to not "air the dirty laundry" or tell the secrets. It is so much more healthy to be real. Sometimes you wonder if others can handle the "too real" posts, but you throw them out there anyway, and blogworld responds with a hug. Now isn't that so God. Love your God Stop this week. It's kept me thinking and made me grateful--most especially for you, Angie. love you, annie

Hi Angie - I agree wholeheartedly with you. I love blogging because it's all about positive accepting and authentic relationships. We all can "play" along :) and we all get to hear how God is working in each others' lives. It's awesome!

I agree with you 100%! For me personally, I grow SO much when I read about the challenges that other bloggers face...and they share how God has and IS bringing them through!!

You are SO right. Not a one of us...are perfect!!

Have a BLESSED weekend. And again, THANK-YOU for your post.

I am so glad you came over and played with us. :o) I loved your GodStop! I agree with you, this has been a blessing to be able to meet so many of my sisters or girlfriends in God. We are learning about each other, from each other and praise God the grammar doesn't have to be perfect and like you said, our homes don't have to be perfect!! It is refreshing. I think that is why I am so excited about the Cover to Cover journey through the Bible. We get to visit each other and learn about the ways God is speaking to us in His Word. It is so much fun to do this together. Yes, it is refreshing!!
Have a great weekend!

I couldn't have said it better :) None of us is perfect, but God is so faithful to walk before us on our road back to Him. I'm so happy that I started blogging : I would have never guessed that I'd "meet" so many wonderful Christian women.

It's weird that you can actually feel "community" with people you've never met in person, and yet, there it is. I'm with ya, Sister Sledge. :)

Love that song!! And I am in total agreement. We are a community. And communities of believers hold each other up in prayer!

Amen Sister! I have been telling a few others how wonderful it is to see God working in the lives of those I have never met in real life, but consider them to be family!

I totally agree! and sometimes it's nice to know "I'm not the only one". I think sometimes we don't share because we're afraid we're the only one stuff happens to. it's nice to have a safe place to come to and let it all out.. and even get some encouragement and prayer when we need it :o)

Hi Ang,

Thank you for commenting on my blog. I'm so glad that you liked the video. Kirk Cameron has been a Christian for many years; he is part of the ministry that God usesd to save me; Way of the Master ministry. When you get the chance, check it out at www.wayofthemaster.com and www.wayofthemasterradio.com.

The Way of the Master ministry is awesome! I'm so thankful to God that He used that ministry to reach out to me. I write about them in my testimony on my blog; it's in the December portion of the blog. I've written it as 5 parts, yes, I know that sounds long :), but there is a progression that I wanted people (hopefully non- believing friends, family members and strangers) to see. Also, I thought it would be a great way to praise God!

Hope you have a great Sunday!

We can learn so much from each other when we are being authentic. It's hard to do in person, but I'm getting pretty good at being authentic through blogging. And it can be therapeutic.

What is the best job I've ever had?
