Memory verse #18

When my kids were young it was popular to put them in "time-out" when they were misbehaving. In the 1980's a lot of parents chose to talk to their kids instead of spanking them. I grew up with spankings (and still believe in them), but we won't go there right now. At our house time-out was on the stairs. I didn't believe in sending them to their room because that's where their toys were and it was not supposed to be fun. They would have to sit there looking out the window, thinking about what they did wrong for as long as it took for everyone to cool down and for them to be nice and obey. As I sit here typing this post from the stairs, I think it was a good thing.

Long story short... I need to add this verse to my collection. As Dr. Emerson Eggerichs puts it in Love and Respect, Lincoln and I get into the "crazy cycle" too often.

"However, each one of you also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband." Eph 5:33

Now you know my secrets...
Sometimes I need a time-out!
Love,
Angie xoxo
