closer

God spoke to me through my friends this morning.

We are reading through the Bible chronologically as you may have noticed. I was very discouraged this week as I kept getting confused and distracted by so many different people and names I couldn't even pronounce. I really wanted to quit reading altogether.

I was too tired after work last night to read my friends' insights so I waited until this morning while I was fresh with a cup of coffee. When I heard this verse a light bulb went on. It sounds funny to even say, since God is light in the darkness.

2 Chronicles 15:2 "...The LORD is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you."

He is a gentleman.

Honestly, I have been a little confused and distracted in my marriage this week as well. I have allowed some little things to annoy the you know what out of me. Satan had a hold on me and was trying to make me want to quit trying in my marriage, too!

God gave me a song this morning and I have to tell you, it changed my attitude. I'm back on track and am so grateful as I type this to you! I pray this song Blesses you like it did me today!

"But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you look for him with all your heart and with all your soul." (Deuteronomy 4:29)

My husband just left to go to the store to buy light bulbs. I am not kidding!

I want to be closer to the LORD and my husband!

Dear Satan,
I am not quitting!
In His Love,
Angie xoxo

You go girl! I love seeing each new revelation you experience. It is a reminder and sometimes a revelation to me also.

So glad we are friends!

Your post reminded me of the verse in 1 Timothy 6:1which says 'Fight the good fight of faith....". Sometimes we get weary, and the enemy of our souls would like to rob our peace and joy - keep on pressing toward the 'mark of the high calling' in Christ.

I hadn't thought of that song in years. It is playing as I type and it is good advice for our marriages and for our Lord! No wonder Scripture compares Christ and the Church to a husband and wife. It's huge, and I'm just adding a little PS to Satan--Stay away from my friend because our God is bigger! She is in no mood for any shinanigans and will never be a quitter.
Love you, Annette

Praise the Lord Angie.. I think you just gave the devil a black eye lol. Thank you for your realness and for sharing your heart. I can relate to those times the enemy comes in and tries to cause division with us as well, especially when we are get ready to sing or do worship. But in the end he walks away with a couple of black eyes from us as well. Hugz Lorie

Isn't it great that you've come to a place where you recognize the manoeuvers of the evil one? That you are close enough to God to hear His voice?

You go, girl!

love you,

Resist the devil and he will flee from you. James 4:7.

Though I love the Lord dearly and long to know Him even more and long to know and understand His Word, His Word does confuse me at times. Just like it says in 2 Chr. "forsake him and he will forsake you." YET, in the gospels it tells us the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you. So, which is it? He will only forsake us if we forsake him? I choose to believe HE WILL NEVER FORSAKE US, REGARDLESS.

I hope I'm not the only one who sees many gray areas in God's Word. However, there are many, many times, that I literally wish I could memorize the whole Word. Just like I do not know off the top of my head the location of "he will never leave you nor forsake you" is but I wish I did. I wish I was a walking Bible.

I am not able to watch the video at work but will tonight.

Thanks Ang, for a great reminder.
Praise be to our precious Jesus that He gave you strength to say "yes,I will" work on my marriage and stay focused on God.
Remember, Resist the devil and he will flee from you....he has NO choice but to flee...he cannot be near the name of Jesus.
Love to you, my friend.

Come closer---he's saying it to all of us. I even let some big issues with my husband annoy me this week and all I am doing over here is asking forgiveness it seems like, but better than the alternative of hiding and silence and distance. Love your humble heart. I came by to say "The Lord is with you when you are with Him." And you are!

My husband and I were just talking about this very thing! I said if it is hard to be married as Christians, how does anybody else ever do it......I have a divorce to prove they often can't! Marriage is hard work, but so worth the effort.

I love that song! He's always there, we just have to get closer!

I could finally view the video. I like the song...I guess because the "oldness" reminds me of my childhood. Yes, 34, and I HAVE heard this song before.

How true on a spiritual level. It is exactly what God says...if we draw near to Him, He will draw near to us. Not sure of the scripture location.
