Thank you for being my friend!

Happy God Stop Friday!

This post is way overdue! I was so blessed by a fairly new blog friend a couple of weeks ago. Her name is Kelley over at Aroma of Joy. Don't you just love that name? I love the names my Christian Siestas choose. This is one of my favorites. Anyway, she gave me the sweetest award. I was so honored for her to think of me! Thank you, Kelley!

I also received this from my friend, Kat at Just a Beach Kat. She has been the sweetest girlfriend since the beginning of my time on here! Thanks, Kat!

When it comes to passing on these awards I always feel uncomfortable. I hate the feeling of being left out. It must go back to my childhood and the rejection that scarred me for life! I don't ever want to leave someone out! I remember too well the feeling and my heart still sinks when I think about it. Girls can be mean. I remember when I was in about fourth grade and a friend (well, I thought she was my friend) had a party and invited everyone but me. I also remember my mother trying to protect me from the pain and called the girl's mother to have me invited. I actually went to the party! I still can't believe I went. I missed a good lesson on handling disappointment. What I really needed was a hug from God alone.

Long story short, I want to pass this on to every girl whose heart was broken by a friend either when they were just a little girl or even yesterday!

God is so good to me and has brought me many friends along the way. I am blessed by so many in real life and in this blog world. I have a map on my sidebar and really don't check it often, but when I do I realize one thing. Our world is small and gets smaller every day. We are all just little girls looking for love and acceptance. Thank you for being my friend!

This was a God Stop for sure!
Love you,
Angie xoxo

For more God Stops please visit Patty who is so sweet to host this day! TRUE STORY: I just posted this and went to check it. I clicked on what I thought was Patty's blog and made a mistake when linking her. When I did, it said "This blog is open to invited readers only". God is funny! I corrected it! :)

SUNDAY: This is from my friend... Annette!

Angie,
You said this sooo well! I hated just choosing a few to give this to, I wish I would have been able to articulate my thoughts like you did. I know the pain of exclusion and I would never want to make someone feel left out! Thanks for passing it to so many, that is such a good idea!

I just read your last post as well. I will pray for all of the Buckner family, I can't imagine the pain and loss they feel! Praise the Lord that we have a hope for a future, and that Gary discovered that in time!

Have a good weekend friend!

Love,
Kelley

Angie,
You are so sweet!! Thank you for your encouragement!! I had a friend yesterday call me and she was upset because she had a friend who talked behind her back. This God Stop is very timely! May God bless you beyond what you have asked or imagined!!!
Love,
Patty

I'll remember that the next time I feel left out or am unable to join in - "What I really needed was a hug from God alone."

These are such sweet comments. I think every little girl (and boy) has had their heart broken this way at some time. It even happens to grown up girls and boys.
I came here via Kat's blog. I was one of the bloggers she gave an award to today along with you and a lot of others. I have been trying to decide who to pass it on to. Your comments have certainly given me something to think about.
Blessings for a wonderful weekend.

I totally know that feeling! A similar thing happened to me when I was a little girl. Why do have to remember the negative feelings? :-)
You are the sweetest blogger. Your comments always bless my day!
Much love to you too!

You know what stinks?? Dealing with rejection at the age of 38! It is never easy. It wounds. It hurts. And...it happened to me this week and with God's help and His tender love, I will be fine.
This was so perfect today. Thank you sweet friend.

Much love,
Fran

Yes I do remember all those painful memories! I so don't want my daughter or son to go through that, but go through it they will! I just hope to give them the right advice when it comes and just hug them for all they are worth! Thanks for the great God Stop!

what a great God Stop!! I loved what you said about feeling rejected and left out and stuff b/c sometimes I feel silly when I feel that way. As if I'm supposed to grow out of it at some point or something. I'll have to remember to get my "hug from God alone" the next time it happens :o)

Hello again,
Thank you for visiting my blog and for the lovely comments you made. Like you, I love Tim Janis music. I made a DVD of pictures we have taken through the years at Yosemite and the Grand Canyon and had Tim Janis music playing all the way through it. The music really made the difference.
Stop by for a visit anytime. You are always welcome.
Blessings for a great weekend.

Thanks, Angie - for your tender thoughts here, for the YouTube post (I used to LOVE watching this show!!!), and for the reminder that a hug from God is often what we really need. I love that He can hug us through our blogging friends!
And I am so glad you stopped by my palce last week. It's great to hear from you!!!

Hello, sweet friend!

I am sorry that you have memories of times that hurt you greatly. Those kinds of things never seem to leave our souls, do they?
I pray that the memories that are closest to your heart today are of all the people who obviously draw great strength and inspiration from you. You befriend many and your influence is great! I am proud and delighted to call you 'friend".

Blessings
