The last time I was in New York visiting Meghan, we ran across the Brooklyn Bridge. She ran it again this past weekend. I was reminded about a story I heard our pastor telling us about the song, Bridge Over Troubled Water. He suggested whenever we hear the word "I" we replace is with Jesus. As I sit here missing my daughter, it sure helps to hear this song. After all, Jesus is like a bridge over troubled waters.
When you're weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all;I'm on your side. when times get rough
And friends just can't be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
When you're down and out,
When you're on the street,
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you.
I'll take your part.
When darkness comes
And pains is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Grateful for music to my soul!
Much love,
Angie xoxo

Hi Ang,
Thank you so much for sharing this song of inspiration with us today. What a great idea to use jesus in place of I. We don't have magnificent bridges like those in Brooklyn or San Francisco, Oh I would love to cross over one of them oneday. Yet everyday Jesus is my bridge over my troubled waters.
Luv ya Lorie
Sweet post, Ang - thanks for your constant friendship and love.
Jesus is the bridge. I love that imagery. He carries us over and often through troubled waters. However, He is the Source of all our provision and help. I love you sweet friend. Love you so, Annette
I love this analogy and you have just given a new meaning to one of my all time favorite songs. Thank you.
Just heard this today and actually thought of the Lord!
