Psalm 118
1 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
23 the LORD has done this,
and it is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day the LORD has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.
25 O LORD, save us;
O LORD, grant us success.
26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the LORD.
From the house of the LORD we bless you.
28 You are my God, and I will give you thanks;
you are my God, and I will exalt you.
29 Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good;
his love endures forever.
It's another one of those weeks when I'm grateful I heard this Psalm through a song before reading it in my Bible. How could it possibly not be the one that lingers this week in our Cover to Cover readings of the Bible? It's never too late for you to join Bev and the girls. Click here to find the readings! God was especially good to us this weekend by orchestrating a visit from our friends who came in from Houston and were able to escape Hurricane Ike. Unfortunately they cannot get home to check on things until early in the morning. Apparently they still don't have power. Please keep them in your prayers!
I'm praying God is the center of all of our lives and in the lives of our loved ones (especially one in particular). He knows who he is... Please, Lord invade his life!

This is one of my favorite Psalms. He is so good, isn't He? All the time! And He should be the center of all we do. Why do we make that so hard sometimes? We forget to check with Him, before we go and make other plans...when He knows what's best al along.

I'm giving thanks for his everlasting love this morning, for his provision, for his amazing joy that he sets before us. We slept well last night and at 3:53 a.m. (CST) we are sitting in the airport awaiting our flight back to Houston. We slept well (all 4 hours) and the best part was I showered and had coffee so I feel like I can take on the day (or night) No telling what awaits us, (no gas, no power, no water so far and some flooding,) but we have been blessed once again to know His ever-catching, ever-preserving Hand--and the best time this weekend with you! I've been in and out, mostly without internet for one month now. So, let me say again that meeting you at LPL was deeply moving to me to be in your presence. Your humility is so real!
The first verse is the prayer we pray when we return thanks after a meal! He is good isn't He!!!!
I love it when reading the Word songs come to mind. Remembering those who need Him at the center of their lives as well.
