Once again I almost didn't do the reading. It's still officially Monday so I think I will have time to do a little Cover to Cover insight if I hurry. I loved how this week's readings included Psalm 126. I will never forget the first time I read in the Bible what I had heard so many times before regarding reaping and sowing. I had no idea it was Biblical.
Psalm 126When the LORD brought back the captives to Zion,
we were like men who dreamed.
Our mouths were filled with laughter,
our tongues with songs of joy.
Then it was said among the nations,
"The LORD has done great things for them."
The LORD has done great things for us,
and we are filled with joy.
Restore our fortunes, O LORD,
like streams in the Negev.
Those who sow in tears
will reap with songs of joy.
He who goes out weeping,
carrying seed to sow,
will return with songs of joy,
carrying sheaves with him.
If you could see my Bible right now you would see the many notes I took on these verses. I think I have totally lost it because I just took a picture of them! I took the notes while listening to Beth Moore explain them like only she can do (or I should say, God said through her) and have them dated. Apparently I thought I needed to understand these Words in the depths of my soul. I'm pretty sure God wanted me to see this again today. "Nothing is as good as feeling the Joy that God and I made it through this...!!!" I had 3 exclamation points!!! God and I have gone through a lot together. I wrote this, too. "You'll never know Him until you know Him all yourself!". The LORD has done great things for me! How quickly I forget.
We need to remember to sow the seed of God's Word, (especially in times of tears), so we will reap a harvest of Joy!
I hope you never forget what He has done in your lives!
Much love,
Angie xoxo

Ang,
This is a wonderful post and can I say Psalm 126 is one of my favorite chapters of the Bible - right now it is running a close second to my "camp on it" chapter that I landed on the weekend of the Siesta Fest in San Antonio. (Isaiah 60).
I love to see how others mark their Bibles. I was sharing with the young man who comes and has Bible study at our house each week that I started out marking my Bibles with just the notes from what others were teaching me, but not I mark out what God shows me in those notes... I love a marked up, well used Bible. What a spiritual legacy you are leaving my friend.
Yours reminds me of how Beth turned her Bible out to us at LPL. Both pages covered in post it notes she said, "How is a person supposed to teach like this. You are in good company, Ang. Good company.
Blessings to you, for I know that the Lord has done great things for us and we are truly glad.
I love that you took a picture of your bible! I love seeing how different people mark in their bibles, it is so intruiging!
Love ya, Ang!
Hope this week is wonderful for you!

Don't you just love how the Word comes to life? Oh, girl, He is always there! Even though I wish I always remembered what He is teaching me, I also love the fact that He's patient enough to remind me again and again.
love,
karen
Amen Sister. I love the picture! I am sitting here drinking coffee trying to wake up. I got up an hour ago...not a good sign, ha ha ha
Have a blessed day.
Love, Annette
When you pour out your heart to Him, clinging to His Word, you bring Him great joy. This post makes me cry. I know desperation like that, and nothing consoles like His touch, His Word sown in tears in your heart. Your Bible is beautiful. I wished every page of mine looked like that. He does love you so. Praying for you this morning, Annette
Psalm 126 was in the birthday card I sent to my daughter today about laughter. Thanks for sharing this, Ang, and for commenting today.
Loved this post Angie! I'm so glad you are sticking to your cover to cover reading. You are getting so much from it! Even when you don't think you are going to get to the reading. Isn't God's Word wonderful? Always nourishing! I loved the song too. Thanks for sharing. Love, Mary
Ang,
Don't you just love how God speaks to us. He had you write all those notes in depth and then brought you right back to that same Psalm. How wonderful He shows us Himself through His own Words.
Thanks for this reminder of just how awesome He is in how He works in our lives.
You are a treasure.
Come visit me when you can. I miss your comments.:-)
Love,
Paula
Ang...
I love the photo of your Bible. Isn't it wonderful visiting a verse, chapter etc and see notes from a previous visit, to see how we have changed and how God's Word hasn't!!! It just fits our needs right where we are. I have a friend just refuses to write in her Bible - I tell her to go for it! Those jewels of insight are a blessing. I have a niece who wants my Bible someday because I write in it! :)
Ang,
I love to come back to passages in my Bible that I've marked and often He will teach me something new from it each time! I love that His Word is alive and active!
Blessings

I have my great gramma's bible. It has marks, jots, and tittles on every page. I love the way it feels in my hands and smells ... a little like she must have. Bibles are very special when they have a soul poured into them.
Thank you for visiting my blog :-)
Hi Ang,
I love that psalm as well. I used it alot during my times on Chemo and it has been such a comfort to my soul and I felt that even after the tears, the joy remained, and I the songs continued. Thanks for taking me back to a place where I loved to dwell in the bible.

Thank you so much for this heartfelt reminder of how much we need to appreciate all the Lord has done for us. I have been mindful of this as of late, yet there are moments when I forget to remember he one who loves me and sees me as complete. God is sooooo Good!
Especially in times of tears....
Oh, how I know this one too.
Much love,
Fran
I love this Psalm. Did you study Stepping Up? God has done so much for me. I know that I know what He's done. I also know I'm prone to forget as I'm human. But He has been keeping me where I've been seeking HIM and I wouldnt want it any other way. I love your notes in your Bible. BTW--I gave that small one I had at Siesta Fiesta to my 11 year old son who can still see words that small. I got another one from my husband as he cant see the words in it anymore but I still can! :-) But then I have my Bible study Bible like yours that I treasure for all the notes I have from my quiet time. I dont usually travel with it. Love ya lots and many blessings to you in Christ our Lord!

I love this post and how you shared such personal notes from your Bible.
It looks similar to mine. Mine used to hold more tear stains than it does today (it seems lately there is a dam built around my lake of tears) but I love it just as much.
Blessings, Cindy
Wonderful post Ang! I love that you shared a picture of your Bible. I have so many notes in mine as well and need to date them and add where or why the note was made! I love when my kids left me a note or a picture when they found my Bible sitting open somewhere, they are precious!
Hey Ang!
Thank you for this reminder...that I need to be sowing the seed of God's word. I gather the seeds often but do I sow them???
Love to you-
Sheryl
I often remember a song I sang as a child that went something like this:
"Lord, what have I ever done to deserve even one of the blessings you have given me."
I am truly blessed.
Hugs!
