"I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands." (Psalm 63:4)
"The LORD's right hand is lifted high; the LORD's right hand has done mighty things!" (Psalm 118:16)
"When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on me and said: 'Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last." (Revelation 1:17)
Did you know the word "hand" is in the Bible 1409 times?
This Thankful Thursday I am thankful for my hands. I found this plaque of my right hand. I made it in 1969 as a Christmas gift for my parents. It got me thinking about hands. With them I was able to play catch with my son this evening and have a great conversation with him. It was such a gift! These same hands held my daughter for the first time (and my son) and it was the best day of my life. With these hands I am able to clean teeth and meet so many amazing people. My left hand is decorated with a beautiful wedding ring from my husband to remind me of my commitment to him and God. On my right hand I wear a ring that reminds me of where God brought me.
When things in life seem bigger than God we have to remember we are in good hands (and so are our children)! I pray we can be His hands and feet and glorify Him with them everyday. The thing I love is that He'll never let go!
In His Grip,
Angie xoxo

A touching post, Ang
That was a great reflecting post, Just one of those that really makes me smile.
Such a lovely post, bless you sweetie.
Great thoughts, my friend. I believe that the work of God gets done in our world by my hands, your hands, and the hands of Christians everywhere. So, daily, I must dedicate my hands to Him, and ask Him to lead me to use them as HE sees fit.
I want to be His hands!
And may we always be reminded of All He has given us....with His hands that were nailed upon the cross!
Great post! And how comforting to remember that we are in His hands and so are our children!
Blessings
Michelle
Opening hands to receive, extending hands to give. Beautiful thoughts to make me thankful, so thankful, and letting Him hold our children's lives now. Have you ever heard "How Beautiful" by Twila Paris?
How beautiful the hands that served
The wine and the bread and the sons of the earth
How beautiful the feet that walked
The long dusty roads and the hill to the cross
How beautiful, how beautiful, how beautiful is the body of Christ! Love, Annette
Beautiful post! I just found you today and I know I'll be back. :o)
I've always been fascinated by the number of references to the "hand" in scripture, and specifically, the right hand. May the Lord hold you up in His Might Right Hand today!
Joyfully,

This post touch a very deep cord in me... My hands are very important to me, I have Carpel Tunnel in both of my hands, I have had surgery on them both and most of the time they are ok, other times they go numb on me...
I relized that I had talents that I use my hands for every day, i'm in to all kinds of crafts and I am a painter, quilter, and I sew al the time... So I thank God everyday for letting me keep doing these things that I love to do...
Now to look at my hands, I have people (friends) that always say things see I am a ring person I love rings, other than I don't wear rings on my pinky's but on the other 6 fingers and my thums I wear 14 rings... I have always wore lots of rings my hands feel bear if I don't have them on...
Ok I also reach out to others with my hands, and I do the Lords work with them...
So Ang, thank you... You are in my prayres...

Great post, Ang. I love the illustration of our hands. We are His hands and feet to reach others...I like that song.
Amen! Beautiful reminder that as we look at our hands may we always be reminded of the hands that was nailed to the cross, that created all things, and the hands that carry us through when the journey gets tough. Heart to God and hands to man as we help lift up one another in encouragement and Love. Our hands tell a story, may each story bring glory to the Lord.

Great post. God bless.
I have a very similar plaque that my husband made of his hand print in 1971. I LOVE it!! And of course I have some my children made as well. I really enjoyed reading your words about how important hands are and the blessings they have held. Bless you for sharing such a meaningful insight!!
Love,
Kelley
