Wow. Another week has gone by and it's time for me to share what I've learned in our chronological reading of the Bible from cover to cover with Bev and the girls. Last week I told you how discouraged I was, being unable to keep everything straight and I must tell you this week has been the same. We have been in 2 Kings and I've been struggling. I am still not quitting!
This is what lingers...
2 Chronicles 20:15
He said: "Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the LORD says to you: 'Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's.
This spoke to me, being reminded once again that my battles are not mine, but God's. He is in charge of EVERY detail of my life and knows the plans He has for me! What a relief that I don't have to worry or do everything perfect. He is the Only One who can be Perfect and Holy!
The readings reminded me that families have a whole lot of generational sin. Some hit closer to home than others for me. I was so touched by a dear friend of mine who told me her husband sat their kids down, admitting to a sin in his family that he wants to stop here once and for all! It was not easy by any stretch of the imagination, but I admire him for being a real man. I'm sure it makes God happy as well!
I pray you hear this as if it were the first time...
Psalm 91:2
I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."
I am so glad we have a God who knows exactly what He is doing and in His perfect timing. He does not call us to trust men, but to trust Him. Praise God. I never tire of hearing God speak to me through this song and I pray you are Blessed by it today!
Have a great week,
Angie xoxo

This song practically comes straight from the Psalms. I found the week's readings challenging, and almost too much to digest, but like you, I love that Word to King Jehoshaphat. A vast army stands against each of us, but God is so much bigger! "Whom have I in heaven but You?" You're in my prayers. Love, Annette
Amen!
God's word is a comfort to me.
Hugs!

I love this song too! May this week be struggle free!

You touched deep places in my heart in your e-mail. God put on my heart for you 2Chron 20:15 and I see that He told you! Isn't that just like God---how could I have ever known?
Oh that is good Ang!
I always learn so much from your insight
God bless
Kim
there must be something in the air because I have struggled so much lately as well.
I appreciate your words and will hide those verses in my heart.
blessings,
karen
I think of how many times I am discouraged about something small or large and His Word says not to be discouraged about EVEN a great big army!!!!!!!! Thanks so much for that great reminder. :)
Hey Angie,
I know...what is with all these names that begin with J...I am thankful that my Bible has a timeline that extends through the Kings to help me remember who was king when and was it Israel or Judah...
I love the scriptures in your post and I am so thankful like you that the battle is not ours to fight...God is with us.
I love that song so much...I have the Blessed CD that contains that song and I have always loved it because it covers great ground from the psalms.
Have a blessed week and keep on reading...I am glad to be back and really missed being in the swing of posting...it's a good thing.

I, too often, forget that the Battle Belongs To The Lord! I need to sing the song every day when I rise! Beautiful post Ang. Love the song!

God Bless my sister in Christ

Thanks for the song...one of my favorite. I too found the names etc confusing and I've it all before, nonetheless, I didn't quit and you are wise to stick with it too. We need to keep reading and when we seek Him we will find Him, that is a promise He has made us. Thank you for being transparent. Blessings on your week.
Hi Angie...A few years into our marriage my husband and I made a commitment that we would not allow those generations curses to be carried into our life and the life of our children, we prayed and asked the Lord to break and release those curses of dysfunction, unforgiveness and so on from the past. And to refresh, restore, and renew the future generations in our family beginning with us. Just because those were the ways our ancestors chose to deal with it, does not make it our ways. Battles out of our control is not ours to fight, but the Lords. What a great reminder.. Hugz Lorie
Beautiful post dear Sister in Christ.
You can easily map out your family's spiritual history. Ask yourself are there a lot of:
Divorces
Miscarriages/Abortions
Addictions - work, food, alcohol etc
Early & or Traumatic Deaths
Suicide
Anger/Grudge/Feud Issues
Depression
Occult/Witchcraft
Cancer
Diabetes
You get the drift, pray for your family and all future generations to be broken free from them.
Generational Healing Communion services are very powerful, many of my family members have participated in them and we have seen dramatic results.

Ang,
How many times do we go into battle w/ just our mortal flesh. It's so easy in our humaness to think the battle is ours. (how self-centered are we) :) It's a much larger, spiritual battle and God fights for us - He is our refuge and strength! If we fight rather than letting Him battle for us we only become badly bruised and bloodied.
I too wanted to break a pattern of generational sin - one of the reasons I wanted to have children was to give them a home that had both parents under one roof, loving each other and setting an example of faithfulness. God had a different journey in mind for me. Perhaps it was to break the pattern! :) You are so right Angie... He is in charge of EVERY detail of our lives and the the plans He has for us!
Bless you dear sister - I know that as you continue your cover to cover journey everything will become straight... I remember feeling the same when reading Kings and Chronicles! Praying for you this morning as you continue through the Sacred Pages.
Hi! Amen sister
love you
Good good stuff Ang!!
Hugs and blessings,
Fran
Hi Angie,
I have missed you! It seems like I have been very out of touch and haven't visited in quite awhile. This is one of my favorite verses. I discovered it as I was dealing with "teen issues" and I have revisited it frequently. In fact, I was sharing it with a friend today (as we are both dealing with teen issues).
I hope things are going well for you. I enjoyed the picture of your daughter, she is beautiful! And I was wondering how your mom is doing. I am planning to mail something to her this weekend.
Take care and I will see you again soon!
