...and every evening.

Psalm 139:23
Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.
This past weekend I was looking up some of my favorite music from high school. We were trying to come up with a list of our favorite love songs. The Commodores were definitely on my list back in the late 70's and early 80's. For some reason I don't remember ever hearing this song that was on the c.d. (album) I listened to over and over again. I could probably tell you by memory every other song on it. Back then God was not a part of my life. I didn't seek Him. I didn't think I needed Him. I was just fine on my own, thank you very much. I knew He loved me, but had no idea what that looked like or how much I'd grow to love Him and need Him today.
Today I want to dedicate this song to all of us who have children who need to know God is there and loves them dearly even when they don't think they need Him. I pray our children seek Him in all of their decisions.
God is so good!
He is Love...

Amen and amen.
God is so good.
Oh Ang! I had never heard this Commodores song before. I LOVED this. Thank you, thank you for sharing it and a little about your past. I'm so glad we found each other. I think I found you first, if I remember correctly!
oh my gosh, this is an awesome song--never heard it either. What a meaningful post to me today. I'm praying with you for our children to know God and seek Him. It's flat too hard without Jesus. I've got to download this song. Thanks for the encouraging post. Love you, Annette
Wow, what an awesome testimony! So glad they had the boldness to put it on a contemporary album! Just think of the people that did hear it and sought out Christ! I too pray for our children! They so need the Lord! This world has taken so much from them!
Wow...I am with you...I had no idea...I will have to share this with my husband...actually many of his sisters and brothers that used to dance in the garage to the Commodores might really be impacted as well.
You wrote one of the desires of my heart that our children would realize their deep need for the Lord...our oldest is 18 and I pray that His Word will not depart from her as she walks into more independence.
Thanks so much!
Helen
Oh how Lionel Richie's voice takes me back in time! I wonder how differently things would be for me if I had known the truth of this song back then. Fortunately God had a plan and although I chose the long and winding road I ended up on the narrow path eventually! Thanks for introducing this song to me, I think I will download it to my Mp3.
I hope all is well in your part of the world! Today is a good one here!!
Love,
Kelley
Well...thank you for the introduction to this fabulous song that everyone somehow missed!!!
"Thank you Jesus for your love and faithfullness."
Have a wonderful day Siesta!

Amen, dear Sister. Amen!
Yes, I agree with you about your comment to me--it made me sad, too. And at the same time, I am encouraged to not be walking this path alone. No, I have my Sister Angie, who understands...and Jesus (He is enough to cover, isn't He?)
Love you friend!

the pics are beautiful. oh and i know what you mean. it is so easy to start living in pride and independence. Oh Lord that we would see our need.
Absolutely beautiful!
I too want to be a faithful follower of our Father.
BTW: did you catch AI last night?
They sang "shout to the Lord" at the end of the show. Vicki Courtney has the clip posted on her blog - it is great!
Blessings,
Kim
