He's right there!

Since this is kind of like my journal and the Godstops along the way I thought it would be appropriate to think about where it all began. This is the church where my parents were married, all of us were baptized, made our first communion and some of us got married!

I love the daily devotional I am doing... Jesus:90 Days with the One and Only. This morning I read in Matthew about Jesus' baptism. I especially loved verse 16-17 which says... As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased." I like to think about it like Beth Moore explained... "Heaven is right there. We look up at that sky at night and the expanse of the stars. He is literally just an open window away from us, sitting on His throne. His presence is in us and on us. God upon His throne is near. We just can't quite see it yet." I can handle anything here and have peace just knowing that!

I like seeing the church where it all began for me. But it wasn't until I was desperate for Him that I truly allowed Him to take over my life! I am so grateful for all He has done and continues to do every single day!

I hope you remember when and where you were when God first made Himself known to you!

Much love, dear siestas!

Sweet remembrances. Your devotional sounds great. I love Beth Moore's studies, but have not done that one yet.

BTW, tag, you're it. I tagged you for a marriage meme today. Hope you enjoy.

What a beautiful church! Does it feel sort of comforting to you to have a 'family' church where so many important life events have taken place. My parents did not grow up here, but my husband and I were married at our church, both of us were baptized there, all our children were baptized there, my sister married there, her 2 daughters baptized, and my mother-in-law's funeral was held there. My son's wedding and my neice's wedding were there also. My parents started going there when we were just little girls...it is an extension of "HOME"

Oh how I love that we can look straight up at that open window to God! His love is more expansive that the sky! What a hug that is!!!

What a beautiful church - where your journey began. Your baptism into Christ... and now your total surrender of your life to Him.
Thank you sweet lady!

I love it!!! And, it's so near to my heart today since I just got baptized on Sunday. Oh, the joy that goes along with obedience.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!
