God Showed Up Big Time!

Hey Sistas~

I had the BEST weekend ever! I am from a big family I am the 6th of 7 children. I have 4 sisters and 2 brothers. (We were all born in 10 years!) Years ago we used to try to have a "girls" weekend once a year. That stopped after my oldest sister passed away from Breast Cancer 9 years ago! She is another story completely! Then my father went to join her 2-1/2 years ago. Needless to say, my mother has had a VERY difficult time with God since then. (I should also mention that she has many health issues. She is diabetic, has had a cancerous lung tumor removed and a triple bypass surgery the summer before my father passed away. She was in a coma for more than two weeks before she stopped breathing then was revived!) God was not ready to take her yet and she wondered why?

Recently, my sisters and sisters-in-law tried to plan a girls weekend. I thought it would be fun to go to the Women of Faith Conference in Cleveland. Unfortunately there wasn't a lot of interest except my sister-in-law and my mother! Yes, you heard it right, my MOTHER! I was SO excited to have her be surrounded by MANY sisters in Christ and to spend a day with Beth Moore! Honestly, I was a bit, no VERY nervous about how she would handle it! I was ready for her to be too tired to go to all of the sessions. I was preparing myself to not be too disappointed if she had an ugly attitude about Beth. But... God showed up BIG TIME! She had a great time. I heard her telling my other sister on the phone how much she loved it. She loved the music, all of the guest speakers and she said she hasn't laughed or cried so much since she can remember! Mom was so excited when we got to ride the elevator with Patsy Clairmont (Did you notice the picture with my Mom and Patsy?), and Sandi Patty and her daughters! Thelma Wells stopped to shake her hand twice and she was so excited. She talked with Ayiesha Woods in the bathroom. She loved the music and the dramas. She bought ALL of the books!!! It was a wonderful weekend and I highly recommend it to anyone! It was very exhilerating yet draining. Mom did not get tired like I expected. By the last session my sister-in-law and I were exhausted but Mom was sitting on the edge of her seat. She didn't want to miss a thing! We had such a nice time. After the conference we went to a fabulous seafood dinner and we took Mom shopping for a few new clothes to add to her wardrobe! On Sunday Mom got on the plane to head home to North Carolina, my sister-in law drove back to Michigan so I could drop her off at the train station to get her back to Wisconsin!

Girls, I cannot tell you how amazing God was for us. There is nothing like a good laugh and some tears to help us regroup! It has taken us awhile but I think next year we will probably have a few more sisters want to join us! We are back!!!

GOD is SO GOOD! I am SO grateful!

Happy Birthday, Meghan!

Dear God,

Today I am so very grateful for You allowing me to be Meghan Elizabeth's mother! I can honestly say that June 16, 1985 was the day I could not NOT believe in YOU! There was no absolutely no doubt in my mind because there is no other way to explain that kind of love! I am so grateful for every moment we've spent together over these past 22 years! Thank you... I am SO blessed!

Your daughter,

Who would have thought!

So... I have been getting up early and REALLY doing my quiet time and I am enjoying it very much! It has made such a difference in my day and I am such a happier person all day long! It's true, it really sets the mood for the whole day! I follow it up with a long walk, jog or bike ride with some awesome Praise & Worship music! God is so worthy of my time and He keeps waking me up early enough to get it in first thing! I cannot recomend a book more than this one to get it going! I am SO grateful for what God is doing in my life! He really is all I need!

It's a beautiful day in Michigan!

We are a miracle!

Lincoln and I are a true miracle! You have no idea what God is doing in our marriage!

Lord, I earnestly ask for the faith to believe that my marriage can be successful.  I know that nothing is too hard for You, Lord.  I believe You are for us and You are willing to equip us for victory.  I ask for the tenacity to get over the hump when we go through seasons of marital hardship.  Please birth in us the desire to pray together and pray for each other.  Enable us through the power of the Holy Spirit to do whatever it takes to make it.  Let us refuse to accept defeat.  Lord, may the testimony of our marriage bring hope to others and glory to You.  In the redeeming name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Meet my two children... Meghan 22, and John, almost 21 years old! I am SO blessed to have such amazing children! God must really love me! I am the proudest mom on this earth!

So... this is a test! I have never added a picture before so will be a miracle if it works!

Twins... my husband, Lincoln is a twin with Lee. We were at a wedding with his brother and we were all amazed that both of the women wore brown dresses and the twins wore royal blue shirts! This is not the first time something like this has happened! Is that not the craziest thing ever?

No, I mean... Praise God!

I am so excited tonight. second thought...no, I mean, Praise God... I can hardly contain myself!
So... my daughter moved to New York a few weeks ago. She began her new job and is busy trying to get into the swing of things in the big city! I love her stories. Tonight she is babysitting to help make some extra money. (To be honest, she never really loved babysitting when she was younger). New York is SO expensive!

Anyway... Right before she left I felt the need to give her some last minute lessons on life. One of them was introducing her to Beth Moore (very gently since she sometimes accuses me of being weird and a "Jesus Freak")! I had her listen to a c.d. that was taped in Chicago. Melissa (Beth's daughter who just graduated from Wheaton) asked some college girls questions and Beth and Christy answered them. My daughter, Meghan enjoyed listening to it! YES, Praise God!

Back up to her Junior/Senior year of high school... My daughter had a bit of an eating disorder. It was serious enough to send her to the doctor and nutritionist/ counselor! Luckily ... no, I mean, Praise God, she nipped it in the bud early! (She continues to have issues with self-esteem and compares her body with all of her very skinny girlfriends!)

Somehow... no, I mean, Praise God, I found a c.d. series by Beth Moore taped in Las Vegas called, "The Lord God Made Woman". It is absolutely amazing! It is true, every word of it! I highly recommend it to all of the people I love!

Okay, so here is the best part... Praise God, because she texted me today saying, "Beth Moore really is awesome"!!"
I am so happy that Beth has been obedient to God and has a special gift to mentor to girls in a way that speaks truth in such a down to earth, realistic way! You have no idea how excited that makes me!
I will forever be grateful!
ALL of the Praise goes to GOD!

Blog Friends

I must admit something to anyone who will listen. I think I am addicted to this computer! It's scarey to think about how much time I have been spending on this especially since I found Beth Moore's blog! I LOVE reading about what other people are thinking about! I feel I am getting some good mentoring from ALL of the Christian girls who I read about. I enjoy spending my time surrounding myself with people who are of the same mindset that I am on. It keeps me on track and I just LOVE it! When I was younger I felt I didn't fit in with a lot of my friends. I always felt different. I now know it was the Holy Spirit working in me! I prayed to God to bring me some "good, authentic" friends and He really did bring me some amazing women! Anyway... I STILL enjoy getting on here and reading about strangers... but you really do feel like sisters... sistas in Christ! Thank you for allowing me into your lives!

ALL I CAN DO IS PRAY

Well, Meghan has been in New York working for a little more than two weeks. She is doing well! I LOVE hearing her stories about things that happen in the city and on the subway! Especially how she takes a duffle bag to hide her groceries and she feels so badly for the homeless people. She saw a guy with a sign saying he was homeless, hungry and HIV positive! Last year when she lived there someone asked her for her bagel when she was eating it! Two people got in a fight on the subway yesterday. It made her a bit nervous!
ALL I CAN DO IS PRAY!

Thursday she is going to see Sarah Jessica Parker who will be in the mall where she works. It's the grand opening of her new line of clothes being sold at Steve & Barry's. She is SO excited and told me her life will be complete!

It's amazing the things I miss about her. It's great when we can video chat so I can see how she does those little things (...you know, like how she re-does her pony tails for no reason and other things that make her unique!) I just LOVE that with these new computers we can actually see each other. It's so obvious that I worry about her and her safety. She visits friends at night and walks alone from the subway. I hope she is not naive.
ALL I CAN DO IS PRAY!

We are in the midst of trying to make some major decisions for our life, too! I don't know if it is a midlife crisis or what, but I have a strong desire to move to South Carolina (from Michigan). My husband is about to start a Veterinarian practice and I am a dental hygienist. Is this just the stress of being empty nesters?
ALL I CAN DO IS PRAY!

I think I will go out for a run so I can PRAY!

What is the best job I've ever had?
