I'm not stopping this list until I get to 1000 things I'm grateful for in my life.
29). Dinner with my nephew Josh and his new wife, Nicole.
30). Tea with some friends at a beautiful garden last Tuesday.
31). A movie this afternoon with some neighbors and friends who I've known for many years!
32). A visit last weekend from my daughter, Meghan. So glad she had fun!
33). Today being the first day after what seemed like 12 years. Don't ask.
34). My ex-husband and his wife helping John get settled in North Carolina last weekend since I couldn't be there.
35). A sweet hug and great conversation with my son before he left to move out of the state.
36). Friends who still love me when I act like a 10-year-old.
37). I'm honored that my friend asked me if I would meet up with a friend of hers to encourage her through something devastating since I've been there, too.
38). The fact that Meghan still loves to spend time with me. Grateful I was chosen to be her mother.
39). Grateful that God used my brother to help guide my niece to surrender her life to Jesus and claim Him as her personal Savior! I'm happy for my brother and I'm excited that she felt the warmth of the Holy Spirit.
40). A compliment from a patient yesterday who told me why he requests to see me every six months. He told me I am very gentle, yet thorough and treat him as if I were his family.
41). Hillsong United and Darlene Zschech's obedience and for the song that speakes to my soul every single time..."Worthy is the Lamb".

(True Promises)
Comes The Dawn
After a while~
you learn the subtle difference
between holding a hand and chaining a soul.
And you learn
that love doesn't mean leaning,
and company doesn't mean security.
And you begin to learn
that kisses aren't contracts
and presents aren't promises.
And you begin to accept your defeats
with the grace of a woman,
not the grief of a child.
And learn to build all your roads on today
because tomorrow's ground
is too uncertain for plans,
and futures have a way of
falling down in mid-flight.
After a while
you learn that even sunshine burns
if you get too much.
So you plant your own garden
and decorate your own soul,
instead of waiting for someone
to bring you flowers.
And you learn that you really can endure...
that you really are strong
and you really do have worth.
And you learn and learn...
With every goodbye you learn.

Mighty to Save
The words to this song are on my niece, Ally's bedroom door. I love to sleep in her room so I can read her walls and check out her pictures. It's very peaceful!

Beautiful.
I was just cleaning out some e-mails and came across this from a friend of mine.
Beauty Tips

Beauty Tips

For attractive lips,
Speak words of kindness.
For lovely eyes,
Seek out the good in people.
For a slim figure,
Share your food with the hungry.
For beautiful hair,
Let a child run his fingers through it once a day.
For poise,
Walk with the knowledge you’ll never walk alone.
People, even more than things, have to be restored,
renewed, revived, reclaimed and redeemed.
Never throw out anybody.
Remember: if you ever need a helping hand,
you’ll find One at the end of your arm.
As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands.
One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.
Love,
Angie

Memory verse #14
Every dental hygienist knows the importance of sharp instruments. When a scaler is dull, it's harder to use and can be dangerous. Not only does it take more force to scale the calculus (tartar) off a tooth, but it is harder to control. It's easy to slip and cause a laceration of the gingival (gum) tissue. We must sharpen them often because every instrument gets dull with use. The sharp edge becomes rounded and becomes ineffective. An instrument cannot sharpen itself. I sharpen mine so they will be more effective and efficient. When my instruments are sharp I LOVE my job! I actually look forward to every patient. You are probably thinking, "Who would love to clean teeth?" Well, you're looking at her, but the only time I don't enjoy it is when my instruments aren't sharp. My life is a whole lot better and goes a lot smoother when they are in the best condition.
I chose this verse because I love hanging around people who inspire me to be better than I am. I want to be the kind of person who inspires others (mentally, physically and spiritually). Before I can sharpen my husband, children or friends, I need to ask God to sharpen me. Only through His Word, The Holy Spirit and my friends can I be effective, efficient and enjoy the job He has given me. I keep making a mess out of things when I do it my way! I can be very unloving and judgmental. I need to surrender again and ask God to have His way with me and do whatever it takes to make me more like Him.
"As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend."
~Proverbs 27:17 (New Living Translation)
Thank you for sharpening me,
Angie, RDH

He's gonna getcha good, too!
I'm writing today because well, maybe you've been there (or I should say... here) too!
I woke up not wanting to do my Bible study. I did it halfway, but wasn't in the right frame of mind. I decided it's been too long since I worked out, so needed to get some exercise first. I couldn't decide if I should take a run, go for a walk, go to yoga, take a bike ride? Finally I decided to go down to my basement, in my sanctuary on my elliptical machine. I needed to sweat. What to listen to on my iPod? I wasn't in the mood for any of my Christian music. Didn't want any part of it. None. (Just being honest.)
When this song came on I couldn't help but laugh. All alone, in my basement. I tried to escape Him, but He made me hear this one. He was singing to me!
I came upstairs and cracked open my brand new Key Word Study Bible and this verse came to mind...
"Be strong and courageous... for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:6)
I looked up the word "forsake" and this is what it means... "to leave, abandon, reject, desert: be left, be abandoned, be freed, be neglected." He won't let me go, even if I try to leave Him! NEVER!
Don't be as stupid as me. Don't even try to run!
Now I'm going to do a head stand... while smiling... then get on with my day!
Have a good one!
Love,
Angie
p.s. Thank You, Lord!

Grateful for these musicians...
I've enjoyed some old music this past week.
I'm praying for the lost tonight.
